PALS 1200 - Introduction to Personal Training I1 hour This course is designed to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills in preparation for the American Council on Exercise (ACE) national certification exam in personal training. Topics include guidelines for instructing safe, effective, and purposeful exercise, essentials of the client-trainer relationship, conducting health and fitness assessments, and designing and implementing appropriate exercise programming. Understand how to obtain health and medical information, assess client expectations, promote client adherence and conduct baseline measurements. Understand how to interpret the results of client assessment, establish client goals, develop a safe and effective exercise program, address health risk factors and teach safe and effective exercise.
