EDUC 5002 - Teaching Exceptional Learners

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the education of diverse students with a range of exceptionalities in order to provide beginning teachers with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions that are crucial for constructing learning environments that help all students reach their potential. Consideration will be given to aspects of human diversity as well as factors that have an impact on families, cultures, and schools with examination as to how these issues affect delivery of educational services. Current technology is used in class so students must have access to their own laptop computer and a LiveText Field Experience Edition license to complete course content. Students will be responsible for securing education sites for completing appropriate field experiences to accompany this course. Prerequisites: Admission to an MAT program.
