HIST 4004 - The Russian Revolution and Stalinism

Prerequisites: HIST 1111 HIST 1112 HIST 2111 HIST 2112. Must be a History major or minor or have permission of instructor. The course is designed to explore various historiographical traditions of the Russian Revolution and Stalinism. Topics to be covered: Russian autocracy, the February and October Revolutions, communism and the “new economic policy,” the rise of Stalin, collectivization, industrialization, purges, World Wars I and II, and the origins of the Cold War.When Offered: Spring Only, Every Even Year
