HIST 1111 - Survey of Civilization I

This course provides a survey of human social, economic, political, intellectual, and religious developments from the pre-literate age to the mid-16^th century. Early civilization institutions developed in the Near East are examined, followed by studies of transitions from Greek, Roman, Medieval European, Byzantine, Arabic and Turkish Empires, to the Western European Renaissance.
