This course explores the basics of the policymaking process including defining the policy environment, federalism, problem creation, agenda setting, policy formulation, budgeting, implementing, and evaluation. The course provides for a deeper working vocabulary of American government and the academic theories that help explain why policies are as they are rather than how they should be.
