CHEM 3410 - Physical Chemistry I

Prerequisites: CHEM 1212  with a grade of “C-” or better.  
Co-requisite: PHYS 1111  or PHYS 2111 , MATH 2201  or permission of instructor. Thermodynamics seeks to apply physical and mathematical methods to the investigation of chemical and physical systems.  This first semester course focuses on the topics of classical thermodynamics, equilibria, chemical kinetics, the kinetic theory of gasses, and the phases of matter.  Laboratory experiments will complement the lectures and provide insights into calorimetry, phases, thermodynamics and gas laws.
