ENGL 4990 - Research Methods

This course introduces senior majors to standard research practices within the discipline of English. These include the use of databases to gather secondary sources, thereby showing students how to enter Into a conversation with other scholars. Other database instruction may include the gathering of primary sources within the subdiscipline of print culture studies. The class will also teach students how to engage with these sources and how to differentiate their own work from that of others. Finally, the class will also help students prepare to write or revise their senior capstone through workshops and one-on-one time with the instructor.
