CHEM 4410 - Computational Chemistry 4 hours Prerequisites: CHEM 3420 with a grade of “C-” or better. This course is designed to introduce students to the area of computational chemistry and its role in modern chemistry. Both molecular mechanical and quantum mechanical techniques will be covered with a focus on understanding their advantages and shortcomings. Students will learn a variety of common techniques such as geometry optimization, normal mode analysis of vibrational motions, and prediction of other molecular and spectroscopic properties. Students will also become familiar with a selection of current software. Fees: $50.00
