CHEM 3420 - Physical Chemistry II 4 hours Prerequisites: PHYS 1111 with a grade of “C-” or better, and PHYS 1112 with a grade of “C-” or better, OR PHYS 2111 with a grade of “C-” or better and PHYS 2112 with a grade of “C-” or better. Co-requisite: MATH 2202 , PHYS 1112 , or PHYS 2112 Physical chemistry seeks to apply physical and mathematical methods to the investigation of chemical systems. This second semester course will focus on the application of quantum mechanics to understanding atomic and molecular structure. Additional topics will include group theory and spectroscopy. Laboratory exercises will cover various examples of computational and spectroscopy techniques. Fees: $50.00
