Prerequisites: CHEM 1212 with a grade of “C-” or better A systematic study of the compounds of carbon. This includes the study of aliphatic and aromatic compounds, their properties, nomenclature, preparation of functional groups, reaction mechanisms, and investigation of structure by instrumental methods.
