Specific General Education Requirement for this Major

All courses must be completed with a grade of C- or better to be applied towards graduation requirements.

• CRWT 2601 - Creative Writing across the Genres

Lower Divison Required Courses (6 hours)

• Select 2 from the following:

• ENGL 2110 - Survey of British Literature to 1700
• ENGL 2120 - Survey of British Literature since 1700
• ENGL 2210 - Survey of American Literature to 1865
• ENGL 2220 - Survey of American Literature since 1865
• ENGL 2310 - Survey of World Literature through Renaissance
• ENGL 2320 - Survey of World Literature since the Enlightenment

Upper Division Required Courses (26 hours)

Upper Division Electives in the Major (12 hours)

Select four additional 3000/4000 level ENGL or CRWT courses. With departmental approval, one of these four courses may be ENGL 3950 or ENGL 3951 (academic credit earned for an internship). Students wishing to pursue this option must receive departmental approval as well as follow the college’s application process for internships. Only an internship deemed equivalent to three hours of academic credit can be used as an upper-level elective in the major.
