Determination of Responsibility

During the portion of the hearing in which responsibility is determined, both parties may present relevant information in order to help the Board determine whether the accused student or recognized student organization should be found responsible for the alleged charge(s). Character evidence is not permitted during the responsibility portion of the hearing. The determination of the Board shall be based on a preponderance of the evidence. Board deliberations shall be closed to everyone, except board members and the Student Conduct Administrator. Prior student conduct history may not be introduced during the Determination of Responsibly Phase.
