BIOL 3208 - Native Flora of North Georgia

This course will introduce the student to plant identification and taxonomy as it applies to the flora of the southern Appalachian biogeographic region. Terminology applicable to the use of a taxonomic key will be studied, and the use of a taxonomic key will be practiced. Other botanical concepts, eg., nomenclature, plant anatomy and physiology, ecology, ethnobotany, and biogeography will also be studied as it pertains to native flora. Fieldwork will emphasize the identification of native flora of the North Georgia Mountains.When Offered: Spring Even Years
