The course offers an overview of the history of ancient Greece and Rome. The course explores several themes, such as the “Dark Ages,” the cultures of Athens and Sparta, the rise of Alexander of Great and Hellenistic civilizations; the expansion of Rome; the Roman Republic and the Augustan revolution; the emergence of Christianity, and imperial Rome.
