The Tudor era (1485-1603) is one of the most fascinating and complex periods in Western European history. This course will survey the changes that brought England out of the medieval period; the rise to power of Henry Tudor; the English Reformation under Henry VIII, and the exceptional reign of the first Question Elizabeth. Such topics as the development of the nation state, exploration and developments within English culture will be explored as well.
