ENVS 3205 - Intro Sustainable Agriculture

3 hours
Prerequisites: BIOL 1108  (for biology majors) or ENST 1102  (for environmental science majors), and MATH 2000   with a grade of “C-” or better.
This course addresses contemporary farming practices with a comparison among conventional agricultural practices and ecological agricultural practices such as organic systems.  Agricultural practices will be investigated and studied in terms of ecological, economic, and social sustainability.  This course will also address methods in agricultural research and discuss common experimental designs to answer agriculture-based questions.  Field trips outside of class time to local farms, research stations, and farmer’s markets may take place.
