COMM 4940M - Public Relations and Media Campaigns 3 hours Prerequisites: A grade of a “C-” or better in COMM 2050 . This course will expose students to an alternative career choice to journalism: public relations. Students will be introduced to the principles and practices of public relations professionals, including developing strategic communication campaigns. Issues of new media and public relations will also be examined. Among other class projects, students will be expected to work with a local business or organization to design a press kit and implement a communication campaign aimed at raising that client’s profile.
