MUSI 2100 - History of Rock

A study of the history of rock music from its orgins to the present day. Highlights of the course include rock music’s emergence within the context of the history of American music and the social, political, cultural, technological, and economic forces that shaped the music. Issues of race, gender, and class as they relate to various styles also will be discussed.
