EDUC 3027 - Literacy in the Content Areas

Prerequisites: EDUC 3001 or EDUC 3011 or EDUC 3021 This course explores how to integrate literacy instruction into the content areas to support student learning across the disciplines. Particular emphasis is given to reading, writing, and to the study of expository materials at all grade levels of the curriculum, particularly middle and secondary school learners. Literacy-specific pedagogy is examined to improve instruction and assessment of students at all levels and in all content areas.When Offered: Every spring
