PHYS 3410 - Thermodynamics

Prerequisites: MATH 2201  or permission of instructor Co-requisite: PHYS 1111  or PHYS 2111   Thermodynamics seeks to apply physical and mathematical methods to the investigation of chemical systems.  This first semester course focuses on the topics of classical thermodynamics, equilibria, chemical kinetics, the kinetic theory of gasses, and the phases of matter.  Laboratory experiments will complement the lectures and provide insights into calorimetry, phases, thermodynamics and gas laws.When Offered: Fall odd years
